In ____, my relative wanted to get some plants for her home. I was excited because she brought up the idea of putting a plant in her home by herself. I know that this relative of mine has very long working hours, so I had long given up trying to convince her that she could try using Feng Shui to get a better quality life for herself. She had dabbled a little in Feng Shui for a while, then she gave up because “she did not have the time for it”, she said. So I was surprised that she would automatically bring up the topic of caring for anything that needed attention (pets and plants are a no-no for her in her current lifestyle). We met up for coffee, and she told me that she had thought about what plant she wanted to get. I made a casual remark: “Avoid triangle shaped leaves.” Why did I say that? Because the plants would be put in her balcony in the East of the home, so ‘Triangle is Fire, it will weaken the Wood of the East. Fire is produced by burning wood, so wood will be depleted.’
She was a little thrown off by my remark, because in her mind, she had visualized a big pot of twirled-on-a-log big-leaved money plant to be put in the corner of her balcony. How about if she got a plastic plant instead? Then does it count as Feng Shui? What if she got a medium-sized leaf plant instead? How do we define big-leaf, medium-leaf and small-leaf in Feng Shui terms? What type of plants were easy to care for?
As she got more heated up (excited) about the endless choices of plants, she whisked out her mobile phone, and she started Googling for photos of plants that she should buy:

😂😂😂 So you see, how can this relative Make Feng Shui Work, when even a very simple act of buying a plant takes up so much of her brain juice and her time?!! My dear readers, listen to me, don’t be like her! I know that she was just trying her best to get it right, but this is ridiculous! If you are going to exhaust yourself out because you over-think and you over-analyse what Feng Shui truly is, then every step you take towards Making Feng Shui Work will be a tedious and an arduous journey! And as ordinary people with limited resources, anything too tedious and too difficult gets kicked down the road. Feng Shui does not need perfect of all perfection to work. It only needs you to take action!_____
