In my experience, it is good to burn incense in the home. Why? I find that life is smoother when I do so. Having said that, I think what is truly important is that you make time to pray. Believe in the power of prayers! If you are alright with offering incense in your home, I’ll like to share with you several types of incense holders that I use. This dark brown one is one of my favourites because it holds the incense that is shaped like an ingot, and I find that it burns well. Sometimes I put 1 ingot, sometimes I put 2. I make the effort to pray and burn incense everyday. It takes about 15 minutes for the ingot to burn itself out, and for safety reasons, (1) you must put the incense holder away from curtains, and (2) you must set aside 30 minutes to look after your incense. After it burns out, the holder is very hot, so make sure you don’t put the holder on any paper or cloth material. I normally put it on a brown wooden surface (well-ventilated area), because I find that the heat leaves a stain on white wooden cupboards. And lastly, don’t put your holder close to the wall or it will blacken the wall. You can buy this type of incense holder for $2plus at any neighbourhood incense shop.
