I had to run an errand near Block 302 Choa Chu Kang, so I popped by this stall to packet dinner. My husband loves to eat the yummy fried Ngoh Hiang (Hokkien meat rolls) from this stall, but he has no time to go line up, or wait around the coffee shop to find a seat. He’s really lucky to have me, I go line up and packet home for him. I know he’ll be happy tonight when he sees he’s having this for his dinner! Of course it helps that I love to eat the food from this stall too!
刚好在蔡厝港大牌302附近，就顺便过来打包五香饼给先生吃。他超爱！这摊的五香饼真的很好吃，所以人潮不断，咖啡店位置难找。我打包回家给先生吃比较容易。我不懂有些人：明明忙的要命，还坚持“食物冷了不好吃”。。这“不好吃”值得你去人挤人，浪费两个小时等位置坐下吃吗？真的？😏
The Boss asked me “Miss, this crackers you have taken 3 pieces ah??!”, just to confirm before he re-fried them to crispy cracker state for me! We love these crackers. Yummy yummy!!!
老板问我：“小姐，这脆饼你拿三片对吧？”对！！我们爱吃！！！
And only 1 packet of bee hoon for us to share. The bee hoon is good too (everyone says so), but I don’t fancy plain bee hoon without gravy.
米粉也好吃，几乎每个客人都认可。我只买一包啦，我不喜欢干干没有放料的食物。哈哈！
See? We can really eat to our heart’s content, and it only costs $20 odd bucks. I saw a working girl who was lining up behind me, and she asked the hawker help how much each (1 egg, 1 fish cake, 1 ngoh hiang, 1 sausage etc) costs! I could not believe she did that! The hawker help got a little impatient, and pointed to the signboard telling her “Miss, you can refer to this board. All the prices stated clearly.” This is what I think: If you want to eat Wu-xiang crackers, then just buy what you feel like eating. If you are watching your budget, then go for the standard hawker dishes like chicken rice, fried hor fun, nasi briyani (where every plate is standard and the prices are fixed). Do you agree? Nobody eats Wu-xiang cracker on a daily basis anyway, so go on – treat yourself after a long day at work! 😘
“这皮蛋一粒多少钱？”“五香一条多少？”“鱼饼呢？”“这是什么？用什么料做的，一条多少钱？”我回头看，原来是一位女子，穿着办公室做工服装！天啊，真的吗？你忙了一天打包五香还要这么讲究？没有人每天吃五香的（如果是每天每天吃，那么应该对价钱很清楚了🤣），所以，小姐，你就痛痛快快吃吧，想吃什么就拿啦！果然，摊位助手对她说：“小姐，价格清清楚楚写在这公告栏，你可以自己看看。。”。我的想法是：如果你有预算，那么别吃五香饼，选吃价格比较标准的，比如鸡饭，炒河粉，印度饭。如果不想超过预算，叫这些餐饮比较容易计算你的开支，对吧？嗯！
