I remember when my husband was working as a small-time Manager in a Singapore-based company, and he had to go attend a company function. He came home looking quite worried, and he confided in me that he had put his foot in his mouth when the CEO came over to have a casual chat with him. See? My husband and I are so ordinary that we fret and lose sleep, because we are kicking ourselves for not thinking of something clever to say earlier. Argh! It drives me crazy! 😱 But so we can all have a good laugh, here’s their conversation:

CEO: So what do you do in your spare time?

Hubby (think of something clever to say, but where got spare time???): I like to watch movies.

CEO: So do you catch a movie every weekend?

Hubby (he is a yes man, but honestly we seldom watch movies): Yes, of course!

CEO: So what kind of movies do you like to watch?

Hubby (think of something smart to say): Action movies

CEO: Oh, that’s good. So do you like the recent Agent movie?

Hubby: Yes, of course!

CEO: Who is your favourite Agent?

Hubby (think of something smart to say, when in fact he is clueless): Agent 11

CEO: Oh! I’m surprised by your choice. Agent 11 only appeared in one scene in the movie. Why do you like Agent 11?

Hubby (baffled): *cricket sound* *cricket sound* *cricket sound* in hubby’s head

LOL! 😂  I remember those days alright! When we had to say something smart to impress the BIG MAN, but… we try and we don’t impress at all!!! LOL!!! My husband lost sleep for many nights after this conversation with the CEO. It was his only shot at making a good impression, and he went to chose Agent 11 of all the Agents available 🕵🕵🕵🕵🕵🕵🕵🕵🕵🕵🕵🕵🕵🕵! What a screw-up!
