The first time I went to a fish shop, I already knew that I wanted to buy those fish that were destined for an arowana fish’s dinner. When I was a child, I was used to seeing arowana fishes in the rich uncle and aunty’s bungalow houses. The rich uncles would catch and throw ‘live’ cockroaches and big insects into the water for the arowana fish to eat. To a child, seeing the arowana fish open it’s mouth to swallow the big cockroach whole was both fascinating and eerie at the same time.

It was only after I had my own pet that I realised that animals have their own soul. My first pet was a yellow canary bird, and he could really sing! I was very attached to him because he would allow me to take him out of his cage, and he would quietly perch on my index finger. When he died, I remember that  I cried buckets! 😭 Another pet came, then another, then another, and my thoughts about animals having their own soul was reinforced.  So when I first went to choose what fish I wanted to rear in my fish tank, I naturally gravitated towards those bait fish. I felt so sorry for them because they reminded me of my own pathetic circumstances where my Managers and the customers bullied me. Of course it also helped that $2 could get you a whole bag of bait fish, although some of them are deformed and sickly.

It was only after I started practicing Feng Shui, and thereafter I started praying and reading about religion, causes and effects, that I realised that saving animals is an incredible way of turning bad luck into good. So I urge you, dear reader, when you go to the fish shop, do not be resolute about buying guppies with brightly colored tails, or those fluorescent blue fish with yellow neon stomachs. Please rescue these bait fishes that are destined to die. They are normally already bagged in small plastic bags, and even if they don’t end up as Mr Arowana’s dinner, the oxygen in the tied-up small plastic bag will soon run out, and the whole bag of bait fish will all die. The staff of the fish shop will not bother to replenish the oxygen or change the water in the plastic bag because that whole bag of perhaps 15-20 fishes only sells for $2. To the fish shop, it is a very small profit margin, and therefore helping bait fish is not a priority.  Death comes to us all, I know, but as ordinary people, do we really have to be fussy about what type of fish we put in our fish tank? Good Feng Shui only recognises one type of fish: ‘Happy Fish’!  💖🐠🐠🐟🐠🐡🐠🐟💗

第一次去鱼店，我心中已经做好打算： 我会买那些注定给金龙鱼当晚餐被吃掉的小鱼。我小时后，习惯在富有的叔叔阿姨家看到他们养的金龙鱼。富裕的叔叔会抓‘活着’的蟑螂或大昆虫， 放入水中给金龙鱼吃。对于一个孩子来说，看到金龙鱼开嘴巴把整只蟑螂吞掉，这情景可说令人着迷也同时令人毛骨悚然。

开始养宠物之后，我才意识到动物有自己的灵魂。我的第一只宠物是一只黄色的金丝雀，它唱歌可厉害！我到现在还是非常依恋它，我记得它性格很驯服， 肯让年幼的我把它从笼子里带出来，静静地‘倚’在我的食指上。当它老了死掉了，我记得我哭整整一个月！后来我父母买我另一只宠物，然后再另一只，然后再另一只，以这些宠物的接触使我确认动物真的有自己灵魂。所以， 我第一次去买我想放入我的鱼缸里的鱼，我自然而然就选择那些鱼饵。我替它们感到很难过，因为它们的处境让我想起了那时我自己的可悲情况： 我工作的经理和顾客欺负我 😢。你说， 我又没做错事， 为什么无缘无故给别人欺负？ 在“鱼国”，应为长得小， 或繁殖力很强， 或长得有点变形和病态就会被排斥。 应为这些鱼饵太普通， 繁殖力超强， 所以不被买鱼者注重。 太普通也有错吗？ 😭 这些鱼饵很便宜， 两块钱就可以买到一整袋的鱼饵。对一个在紧紧看着预算的我， 买这种鱼再好不过。

我练习风水之后，我开始祈祷和阅读宗教信仰，行动和因果。 我意识到拯救动物是一种可以把不幸的运气变为成好运气的方式。 难以置信吧！ 我亲爱的读者们，你们去鱼店时，请不要急于购买颜色鲜艳尾巴的孔雀鱼，也不要坚持买那些萤光黄色霓虹灯的蓝色鱼。请拯救这些被判死刑的鱼饵！ 鱼店叔叔通常已经把鱼饵们装在小塑料袋里。 你知道吗？ 即使没人把鱼饵买回去给金龙鱼当晚餐吃，鱼饵被捆在小塑料袋里也是死路一条。 过两天， 小塑料袋里的氧气会耗尽，所有的鱼饵都会死亡。鱼店叔叔不会费心去补充小塑料袋里的氧气， 也不会更换小塑料袋里的水。 为什么？ 因为这袋大概十五， 二十条鱼饵的售价只售两块钱。如果你买三包， 还有打折！ 对鱼店叔叔来说，这买卖鱼饵是一个非常小， 非常小的利润率生意！因此， 鱼店叔叔不会帮助鱼饵的。他们如果有空， 会把精神放在其他更昂贵的鱼， 比如说金鱼， 七彩鱼， 金龙鱼， 罗汉等。 我知道。。。每个生命都会死，但作为普通人，我们需要讲究家里鱼缸的鱼类吗？ 好风水只需要一种鱼：’快乐的鱼’！ 🐠🐠🐠🐟🐠🐟
