Make An Educated Guess (6)

feng shui scaredy cat cat me 我是风水但小猫

This thing called Feng Shui 💫, I wish that it was a subject taught in school. Imagine if Feng Shui was just another regular subject taught alongside Math, Science, Physics, then would ordinary people like me still feel that it was a hard subject to master?  🤔 Seriously, if Feng Shui was a compulsory subject taught in our Singapore education system, would people still fear to practice it? Yup! For me, there was also a time when I felt that Feng Shui was some mysterious hocus-pocus 🔮 that only privileged people knew the secrets to! I often thought of Feng Shui as a wise old sage imparting his knowledge to his chosen disciple, and then from that disciple to another disciple when the former grew old. There were a few stumbling blocks to my learning of Feng Shui, the main one being that I have never seen my family or my relatives using it, and so I was never exposed to it. Secondly, I did not have a teacher or a helpline that I could turn to, when I had questions about it. And finally, I was always scared that things would get worse if I misinterpreted it wrongly and I practiced it wrongly! LOL! Those were the days when I was a Feng Shui scaredy cat cat 🙀! Meow!

Google “how to energise Feng Shui east sector” and you get a few suggestions: green color, healthy and lush plants, the number 3, small water etc. In _____, I told you to be confident in your practice of Feng Shui. How? Just interpret it as you read it, because it is essentially ‘instructions written in English’ (or Chinese or Tamil, depending on which website you are looking at), right? When you are travelling in another country, and you had completely lost your way, and a kind local helped you with these instructions: “walk down this road, turn left, then cross the traffic light”, do you overthink this and that?

As I did in examples in _____, and in _____, I am going to show you what you should and should not do, when you are unsure of the Feng Shui recommendation. In this case, my relative wanted to buy plants to energise her balcony located in the East of her home.

hdb feng shui east is not energised edited

east balcony is not energised

Her first attempt should be to buy a (one) small plant, and to place it in the East of the East balcony:

make an educated guess one small pot edited

energise with 1 small pot of plant

Then she should go about her own life, and if nothing out of the ordinary happens, she can proceed to buy a second small plant:

energise with 2 small pots of plants

Then she should go about her own life, and if nothing out of the ordinary happens, she can proceed to buy a third small plant:

energise with 3 small pots of plants

If something out-of-the-ordinary happens, then what she should do is to calmly interpret whether the incident had a high probability of happening anyway. However, if the incident was really out-of-the-blue and totally unexpected, then I would definitely remove 1 pot of plant:

if things don’t go well, remove 1 pot

How many plants should she buy for the East balcony? The correct answer would be: “the quantity should be in proportion to the size of her balcony, and in proportion to the size of her entire flat unit”. But if she REALLY needs a number (LOL! these are the type A personality brains), then I say that she should take her cue from the lo-shu grid:

As you can see, the magic number of the East is 3. So she should put 3 plants there. Voila!

Under no circumstances should she go and line up her balcony with huge gigantic pots of plants, when she is unsure if plants in the East would impact ‘negatively’ on the Feng Shui of her home:

never overdo it!

As I said in ________to ordinary HDB dwellers like us: don’t go and buy a massive gigantic anything (fish tank, plant, tv, bed, stove etc)! 😱
