Abandoned Animals (Ducks)

Good Feng Shui also comes from cleaning up other people’s mess. Do you believe it or not?  There will always be stupid people who do stupid things without thinking twice, and without thinking of the consequences. Whether it was an impetuous decision, or it was a foolish decision, the fact remains that ‘it is not fair to ask of others what you are willing to do yourself’. But as with all things in life that don’t make sense, sometimes it’s me nobody else but me to clean up the mess. Big sigh! 😐 Which part don’t people understand? Animal abandonment is a crime! But some people just don’t get it. Some people just don’t care. In this case, I had to tell myself that some things happen for a reason. I like this quote of Cheryl Strayed: “When the path reveals itself, follow it.” My ‘Home page’ banner says: “Even if you don’t feel like you can, just do it anyway.” As I said in _____, you can always do more than you think you can, and my next story proves it! 💪

I saw the grey plastic bag immediately. I wondered if the wind had blown it down from the car park, or had someone thrown it deliberately into the rabbit shelter? My first thought was that someone had put vegetables inside the plastic bag, intending to feed the rabbits, but later he/she decided to fling both the food and the plastic in. Idiot! A rabbit could suffocate inside the plastic bag whilst sniffing out the vegetables.

I could not believe my eyes! Someone had thrown in a bag of ducklings! I’m sure you won’t be surprised but my first thought was: “Got bird flu or not?!” 😨 I mean seriously, it was a group of ‘fowl’ of unknown origin! How will I know whether they are sick or not? Oh! Pity my orphans bunnies. I hope they did not play with the ducklings yet. I don’t want to nurse sick bunnies who contracted bird flu!

Unbelievable!!! Lucky for the ducklings that they could escape out of the plastic bag! Otherwise, I would have to deal with either a heat-stroked duckling, or worse a duckling carcass. What are those people thinking?!

I was really lucky that it was a Sunday, and my husband was with me. His plan was to gather the ducklings together, so they won’t walk around the rabbit enclosure. I asked him to please wear gloves, but you know men! He said: “where got time to wear gloves?!” I don’t know whether to be amused or not, seeing a big man chasing little ducklings around the compound. Little ducklings sure run fast!!! 🦆🦆🦆🏃‍♂️

Oh, a surprise volunteer! He came in, and together, the guys built a cage of sorts to house the ducklings. The plan was to keep them caged up, whilst we figured out next steps. I told my husband that I don’t want the ducklings running wild, because for those of you who don’t know, bird poop is wet and disgusting. Imagine how I am going to clean up the bird poop mess tomorrow!!! Alone!!! 😖😖😖😖😖😖

Sorry little ducklings! I only have leafy greens and water. Please eat something. I will go buy some duckling food later. What do ducklings eat???
