This is the Chinese calendar I have chosen for Year 2018. Wow! It’s only September, and they have already printed and started selling them. I bought this for about $16 from my market newspaper stall uncle. I buy the biggest one (about L35cm by W26cm) because my MIL refers to it sometimes, and her eyesight is not good. So the big print really helps her.
Before I buy, I always ask the stallholder nicely if I can take the new calendar out from the plastic packaging. I look at 3 subsequent dates (for e.g. 2 Jan, 3 Jan, 4 Jan). Each page has an octagon chart printed at the bottom., and each octagon chart holds ‘9 numbers in a square grid’ (I refer to this as the “flying star chart” for the day). Make sure that the chart for each day is different. I have seen calendars that have the same ‘flying star chart’ for the whole year. That is obviously a printing error!

你知道买日历也需要做点调查工作吧？日历每一篇都印刷一个八方形的形状（我称这”每日飞行图”）。如果你参考连续三天（比如说三月六，七，八号）的“每日飞行图”，九阁里的九个号码这三日每日已定会在不同阁里），如果每日“每日飞行图”不变，那么这本日历不要买，是印错的。
